The popular resort of Bénodet, on Finistère’s southern coast, has four sandy beaches and a pleasant
marina. You can take a boat trip out to the picturesque Glénan islands or along the river Odet to
the medieval city of Quimper renowned for its well preserved half-timbered houses, good choice of
crêperies and traditional pottery ‘faïence’. Other places to visit include the fishing port of Concarneau -
a very attractive fortified town steeped in history which also has one of France’s most famous fishing
harbours, the picturesque art centre of Pont Aven, or just along the coast Beg Meil, where some excellent
cider is made.
The Pointe St Gilles site has 440 pitches in 9 hectares, close to a sandy beach. There is a lovely walk
along the seafront to get to nearby Bénodet (1k) which has all the usual holiday facilities - restaurants,
cafés, bars, canoeing, sailing, children’s beach clubs etc. And there’s plenty on site to keep everyone
entertained including a fabulous pool area and wellbeing centre. Tv in mobile homes has a few English
channels. Bbq hire.
