This fabulous restored watermill is in the centre of the quaint, but quiet, market town of Ducey and is
perfectly located for visiting the highlights of both Brittany and Normandy including the must-see Mont
St Michel (18k). It sits in attractive calm surroundings on the banks of the river Sélune and has friendly,
very welcoming staff who will go out of their way to ensure your stay here is nothing short of perfect.
The comfortable bedrooms have a river view, a buffet breakfast is available each morning and there is
also a small evening restaurant (3 course set menu with choice) although availability is limited.

Opposite the ferry terminal, yet not far from the village centre and beach, this friendly hotel has
comfortable bedrooms, a stylishly modern bar and a restaurant that serves good food. For those who
fancy a flutter there's a casino beside the long sandy beach or if you feel like being pampered for
the day, why not try the luxurious spa centre at the Riva Bella hotel (see HF1893). The city of Caen is
great for shopping and easily reached by car along with the numerous D-Day memorials in the area
- Arromanches is just along the coast - and slightly inland, Bayeux, famous for the tapestry, is worth

So much more than just a ferry port, Ouistreham is a charming little seaside resort with lots to offer. As
well as a fabulous sandy beach it has a casino, a couple of museums, tennis courts and a sailing club
as well as a thalassotherapy centre, mini golf and horse riding. It also has a small but pretty pedestrian
centre lined with shops, bars and a good selection of restaurants, and there is a decent wine warehouse
where you can stock up before going home. The Normandie is just a few minutes on foot or by car from
the ferry terminal and has a fine restaurant renowned for its excellent cuisine which promotes dishes
from the region using local produce. The bedrooms, which are in the main building and the annexe
opposite, are simple but comfortable.
