This lovely chalet with its wooded grounds is on the outskirts of one of France's prettiest villages.
The scenery is marvellous, the rooms are comfortable and the dining room and poolside terrace offer
local cuisine which is both distinctive and delicious. Hidden in the Pyrenean foothills on the road to
the Spanish border, Ainhoa is really one main street full of very beautiful Basque style buildings plus
a church and a couple of Michelin starred restaurants, but it is also a great location for walking - there
are over 65k of trails around this area including 5 superb waymarked circuits that start from the village.

Having remained in fashion for over a century, Biarritz was nothing more than a fishing village before
it became one of the Basque Coast's most glamorous resorts. Today this chic expensive town has
promenades, gardens, several lovely beaches, a maritime museum which houses one of the finest
aquariums in France, a casino, smart shops, sports facilities, night clubs - the list is endless. And in a
great location in a quiet area close to the centre, the Karitza has a heated outdoor pool (Easter-mid Oct)
and friendly staff. Its attractive bedrooms all have air conditioning plus an en suite shower as opposed

Napoleon III built a summer palace here, Biarritz is much more laid back these days although it is still
