Skilfully renovated, this impressive 16thC Benedictine monastery is one of the later Paradores. The interior
has kept many of its architectural features including a Tuscan style church and a cloister surrounding
two central courtyards, all of which have been cleverly integrated alongside the contemporary, upmarket
accommodation. There is a large restaurant and bar / cafeteria plus a spa pool and gym. Beauty treatments
are available too (extra charge). There is even a small museum housing relics found during the renovation.
The Parador is probably the main attraction of this small village and makes an excellent base for exploring the
area including the Fuente del Narcea, Degaña and
Ibias National Park. Junior suites, which are more
spacious and have a lounge, are also available.

The Don Paco has a very colourful history dating back to the 1800s including being the French army
headquarters during the occupation, a convent and later a school. Nowadays it is a stylish hotel that
has been beautifully restored and, alongside the charming Posada Herrera park, is well located right in
the heart of Llanes, not far from the lovely Sablon beach. Much of its original stonework still remains,
and what was once the chapel with its high vaulted ceiling is now the restaurant. Additionally, modern
bedrooms are well equipped.
