The starting point of the celebrated, round the world Vendée Globe sailing race is the beautiful seaside
resort of Les Sables d’Olonne which has everything to entertain the whole family. Don’t miss the Port de
Plaisance, the pedestrianised shopping area and the promenade which hosts lively evenings during the
high season. Or head inland to the amazing medieval theme park Puy du Fou - it is well worth the trip
(about a 75 minute drive) to see lifelike battles, authentic villages, birds of prey displays and stunning
son et lumière shows in the evening.
Le Chaponnet is a well kept campsite with 360 pitches in the pleasant village of Brem sur Mer - many
shops and a market within 200m. Large sandy beaches are just 1.5k away (free shuttle bus in Jul / Aug)
and lots of cycle trails through nearby pine forests (bicycle hire available). Good facilities on site include
an aquatic area with 5 waterslides and a wellbeing centre. Only one pet accepted.

kitchen corner (fridge / small freezer, microwave + hob), 1 double and 1 twin bedroom. Shower, wc.
Covered wooden terrace with garden furniture. 2 sun loungers. Plancha grill hire.
Max: 6 - Chalet style ‘Alizé’ mobile homes are as above except there is a full size fridge / freezer and a 3rd
bedroom with a single bed and a pull-out single bed. The terrace is raised and partly covered.
Max: 4 / 5+ - Chalet style ‘Palaos’ mobile homes have living room with tv, table / chairs, settee, kitchen
area (fridge / freezer, dishwasher, microwave + hob). Double bedroom with king size bed. 2nd bedroom
with 2 single beds and a bunk bed. Shower, wc. Partly covered wooden terrace with garden furniture and
2 deckchairs. Linen, towels and a baby kit (if required and must be booked in advance) are provided.

Bed linen hire - 12 euros per bed.
