Prices explained
The Picos de Europa is a protected National Park which
has some of Spain’s most spectacular mountain scenery.
There are gentle trails and strenuous hikes, pretty towns,
tiny mountain villages and exciting bird and animal life – if
you’re really lucky, you may even see bears! The area is also
renowned for its prehistoric cave paintings, breathtakingly
beautiful lakes and waterfalls and not forgetting the
important pilgrimage site of Covadonga. Within easy driving
distance of both Santander and Bilbao, this tour makes for
a leisurely holiday, finishing up at the picturesque medieval
village of Santillana del Mar.

Tour driving distance is approximately 196km (122 miles).
From either Santander or Bilbao, your route will take
you through gloriously green countryside and Spain’s
internationally renowned Rioja wine region, home to
hundreds of vineyards and where you can taste these
delicious wines.
Head on into the Pyrenees to spend two nights in the peace
and quiet of Bielsa, where the scenery is often likened to
Switzerland, with lots of pretty mountain villages.
And then it’s back to Sos del Rey, a historical town close to
the Navarra wine area to stock up before returning home if
you didn’t whilst in La Rioja.
