Self catering information
All self-catering accommodation
Arrival and departure
Your accommodation will generally be ready for you to arrive
between 4 and 6pm and you are requested to leave by 10am.
When the ship arrives in Spain late afternoon, arrangements have
been made for an arrival at your accommodation between 8 and
10pm. For our casas in Asturias, key collection is from a letting
agency near Llanes, so please bear this in mind when planning
your journey.
Cooking facilities
All accommodation has a fridge and cooking facilities - extras such
as microwave, washing machine or dishwasher are listed. Keen cooks
should read the descriptions carefully, as some apartments, chalets
and casas only feature a hob.
Mezzanines
A mezzanine is an open gallery, often used for extra beds but not
ideal for children with early bedtimes, the elderly or less mobile as
they are generally reached by steep and narrow stairs. You should
always supervise children on mezzanines.
Bath/shower room and en suite
Bathrooms have a bath (usually with shower attachment) and
shower rooms only a shower - neither include a wc unless stated.
Capacity
The maximum number of people that can stay in each property
is shown in every description. Where it is shown as 4/6 it means
standard beds for adults, plus smaller beds more suitable for
children such as bunks. If friends or family are joining you at your
accommodation and planning to stay overnight you must let us know in
advance so that arrangements can be made and permission obtained.
Even though most apartments and chalets offer baby equipment for
hire you cannot exceed the maximum capacity shown alongside each
description.
Bed linen and towels
Where bed linen and/or towels are provided or can be hired this is noted
in the description, otherwise you must take your own along with tea
towels. Blankets (sometimes duvets) and pillows are always provided.
At gites you will generally find the traditional French square pillows.
Tv
Tvs do not necessarily receive English speaking channels.
Smoking
This is not permitted inside chalets and apartments but is on terraces and
balconies. At cottages and casas it is generally not allowed indoors and
some owners also request that clients do not smoke outside. If a member
of your party is a smoker please call us before booking so that we can find
out exactly what rules apply at your chosen property.
End of stay cleaning
This is not included unless stated and cleaning products are not
provided. At many properties in France an end of stay cleaning service
is available at extra cost which may be compulsory - this is detailed in
the description. In any case properties must be left tidy on departure.
If this is not done and you have not paid for the cleaning, money will be
deducted from your deposit.
