Surrounded by stunning scenery, the delightful market town of Potes has a lovely old quarter and is a popular centre
for organised outdoor pursuits. It also has numerous tempting restaurants and souvenir shops and in September there
is an annual music festival which attracts people from miles around who come to take part and enjoy the celebrations.
Casa Fidela is a beautifully refurbished semi detached house alongside a narrow lane 200m from the centre of Potes.
Due to the way it is built it has lower ground floor access from the rear, which overlooks a river below (fenced) and
ground floor access from the front.

is part of the friendly owner's large house, all within the same large grounds with shared access although each has
its own garden area. Casa Esther also has a little cabin alongside (dble bed & shower / wc) which houses a further
2 guests if required.

A short drive inland from the coast and its beautiful beaches takes you to San Pedro de Rudagüera, a small village (no
shops) close to the river Saja where the general pace of life is relaxed and laid back. There is a renowned restaurant
here - La Ermita - but you will need to book, and there is also a local train station which is a nice alternative if you fancy
a day out without driving. Casa San Pedro is one of the village's renovated terraced houses and has an interior of white
washed stone walls and beams that give it both style and character.

Cabárceno

Cabárceno is just a short drive from Santander and is a small village with a few restaurants, bars and souvenir shops.
It is also home to a fabulous wildlife park where animals roam in partial freedom amongst large, natural surroundings.
Once an old mining site this really is so much more than a zoo and you can visit by car or on foot - the entrance fee is
well worth the price as it is a full day's entertainment for all the family. Lovely Casa La Regatuca is close to the village
centre and you can see part of the park from the garden. It's a lovely family home in large well kept enclosed grounds
with parking and is an ideal holiday base.
