Midway between the larger resorts of St Jean
de Monts and Les Sables d'Olonne, St Gilles is a
friendly, relaxed little town with a lovely beach and
a fishing harbour. The pedestrianised town centre
is lively in summer with plenty of bars, crêperies
and restaurants - and if you're here on 14 July there
are festivities ending with fireworks on the beach.
Just outside St Gilles Croix de Vie in a residential
area close to the beach, the 3-storey Résidence
la Grande Plage has 57 apartments plus 25 villas.
Apartments are well equipped and furnished in an
attractive modern style. On site facilities include a
heated outdoor pool (13m x 6m, 0.95-1.55m deep,
open April-Sept) & paddling pool plus Wi-Fi at
reception (30 mins per day free of charge per adult,
or in accommodation at a charge). There is also a
dining room serving continental breakfast, and a
jacuzzi, sauna & massages (charge payable). Tv
hire around 40€ per week, 65€ for 2 weeks. 1 small
pet on lead accepted per apartment.
