Well known for its wine, the pretty town of Chinon lies between 2 rivers in the heart of vineyard country
and is steeped in history. After visiting the château made famous by Joan of Arc and the numerous
other historical sites, why not relax in one of the many bistros and cafés or take a leisurely walk along
the Vienne before visiting the wine caves to sample and buy. A good place to stay whilst here is the
Plantagenêt (+ 2 annexes) - a family run hotel with adjoining restaurant right in the heart of town. Air
conditioned bedrooms are simple but pleasant, the staff are cheerful and a good buffet breakfast is
available each morning. Free public parking nearby.
