Courses in Brittany
9 holes are traditional links with the rest on the
uplands with impressive views of the Emerald
Coast. In fact, the sea is visible from every hole as
well as the clubhouse. Although a short course, the
fairways are narrow and you’ll be surprised at the
technical difficulties of some holes - the greens are
often very fast. The course is lined with trees and
flowers and, given its natural beauty combined with
the variety of holes, this is a course to be enjoyed
by all levels of golfer. There is a convivial bar which
serves snacks.
Our opinion:
This course is good for your first day to
ease you in gently.
Favourite Hole: 15th.

Regularly ranked among the top 10 courses in France, and at the heart of an intimate seaside town with a wide
range of bars and restaurants, this is an annual fixture on the European Challenge Tour. The turn, from holes 10
to 12, features three simply wonderful challenges ... a short downhill par four made daunting by the blind tee shot
and ultra-narrow fairway; a remarkably picturesque par five with
the sea on your left and a derelict cottage in your line from the
(very) elevated tee; and a tough uphill par four requiring a good
drive and even better approach shot, perhaps with a fairway
wood, into a hilltop green. The rest of the course is impressive
too, with generally generous fairways, some corking short holes
and a couple of intimidating tee shots over ravines. It’s a little bit
links, partly parkland with a hint of heathland ... but at a fraction
of the price you’d be paying for its equivalent in Scotland or
Surrey. In close proximity to St Malo, it’s little wonder that
Pleneuf is so popular with visiting golfers.
Our opinion:
A ‘must play’ course with stunning views. Favourite Hole: 9th.
The clubhouse and hotel have been totally
refurbished and provide a wonderful place to stay
and relax. The heathland course is now growing
in reputation and provides a very good test of
golf. You can enjoy some excellent sea views
overlooking the Pink Granite coast and the course,
which is an easy walk, suits players of all abilities.
Our opinion:
Only a short drive from Roscoff and with all
facilities on site, this is a perfect location for
a short break.
Favourite Hole: 12th.

On the south west of the city, this is an impressive
championship course renowned for the quality
and speed of its greens which you will find well
protected. There is a real mixture of tight and open
fairways and the 18th has a great finish across
water to an island green. The clubhouse always has
a buzz about it due to being close to the city.
Our opinion:
This course produces many very good players
and is a good test.
Favourite Hole: 5th.
Just north of St Brieuc between Roscoff and St
Malo. It’s a long course with generous fairways and
the lake is a challenge for players when on the 11th
hole and the ladies 8th. Overall, this impressive
and beautifully manicured course makes for an
interesting game and as it keeps improving. It’s fast
becoming a great favourite with visiting golfers.
Our opinion:
A ‘must play’ when in northern Brittany. Favourite
Hole: 6th.
